ENCORE | UX/UI CASE STUDY
Experiencing live music is one of the most thrilling and immersive art forms.
However, the journey to get there—managing tickets (and their countless fees) and supporting independent artists and venues—can be far from a standing ovation.
So I developed Encore.
An app for finding and booking shows, but most importantly supporting the indie live music scene.
THE PROBLEM (STATEMENT)
There is a need for a platform that not only helps fans discover and book live music events, but also fosters deeper connection and support for the underrepresented artists and venues that are the lifeblood of the independent music space. Through a seamless post-show feature, fans are enabled to stay connected and updated on future events, and financially support musicians and venues, ensuring the indie music scene thrives long after the encore.
AUDIENCE
Encore was created to be the David to Ticketmaster’s Goliath.
There was never an intention to compete, but instead to create an accessible and empathetic alternative way to interact with live music. Appealing to the up-and-coming bands, the DIY venues, and the broke student addicted to the freedom of the mosh-pit.
“Live Nation-Ticketmaster is probably one of the best examples of a modern-day monopoly that blankets the live entertainment supply chain. The wingspan of the company is enormous. It extends from artist management through concert promotion through venue management down to primary ticketing and now, of course, secondary ticketing, all the way down to the consumer-facing fan markets.”
